Mad River Lofts is a place for Art, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. It is located at 10 Bridge Street, Winsted, Connecticut in a complex of two 19th century mill buildings containing approximately 100,000 square feet. Initial occupancy is projected for Fall 2016.
Mad River Lofts has work spaces/offices for small business, professionals, artists, and artisans. There is a collaboration space for informal meetings, presentations or just hanging out shared by all tenants. Rent includes utilities (heat, a/c & electricity) and WiFi. Tenants are encouraged to share their expertise with other tenants.
We are currently preleasing the smaller back building with occupancy expected September 2016. The back building contains 16 work spaces ranging in size from 400 square feet to 1,220 square feet. The work spaces combine the classic feel of an old mill (wood floors & ceilings, brick walls, large windows, high ceilings) with modern amenities (WiFi, central a/c, LED lighting, modern electric service) . Many of the work spaces get northern light. The south elevation of the back building is shown below.
We've set up a storefront gallery in the old Kathy's Cupboard space in the Winchester Hotel building across Main Street from the mill (406 Main Street). The gallery features artists from Winsted and other areas of Northwest Connecticut. Exhibits change frequently so please visit often. Part of the gallery will be dedicated to the Mad River Lofts project and will contain floor plans and other information about the project.
